The Umbra Forest Nature Reserve is a protected natural area located in the innermost part of the Gargano National Park. The Forest is laying on cliffs 800 m above sea level, till close to the coast. Since 2017, its beech forests have become part of the Unesco transnational site “Primordial beech forests of the Carpathians and other regions of Europe”, thus becoming a World Heritage Site. The naturalistic beauties of the Umbra Forest can be visited either on foot, following the marked trails, or by booking an excursion aboard the Jeep Safari – Info at the Reception.
